January 18, 2024 O'Connor Family Law Latest News

As a part of our continued commitment to uplifting the community and creating brighter future for the world around us, O’Connor Family Law is proud to announce its support and sponsorship of the 10th Annual NKH Crusader Fundraiser.

WHAT IS NKH?

NKH is a rare, genetic neurological condition with severe consequences on an individual’s quality of life. Currently, there is no known cure for NKH and most patients with NKH have a heartbreakingly low life expectancy.

You can learn more about NKH here.

This event, scheduled for April 12, 2024, at the Tirrell Room in Quincy, aims to raise critical funds for Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) research, benefiting the University of Colorado and Notre Dame.

THE IMPACT OF NKH

NKH, also known as glycine encephalopathy, is a metabolic disorder that varies in severity. Sadly, most babies born with this disorder face life-threatening challenges shortly after birth. Symptoms include lethargy, weak or no cry, loss of muscle tone, little to no sucking reflex, and constant seizure activity. For those who survive, varying degrees of physical limitations become part of their daily lives.

This disorder affects 1 in 60,000 newborns, with less than 500 known children living worldwide with NKH. The NKH Crusaders have been relentless in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for research, with the goal of finding a treatment and, ultimately, a cure.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The NKH Crusaders are seeking sponsors and donations for their raffle and silent auction table. With a goal of raising $75,000, every contribution counts. If you would like to donate an item for the silent auction or make a sponsorship inquiry, please reach out to Kristin Archibald at (781) 249-1835 or via email at nkhcrusaders@gmail.com.

We are honored to have been invited back as a sponsor for the second year in a row and look forward to continuing our support in the future.
