Marie Reidy

Supervising Attorney

True courage is not the brutal force of vulgar heroes, but the firm resolve of virtue and reason-Alfred North Whitehead

Her Story
"Doing the right thing means setting your own needs aside to create something greater than yourself. That’s bravery. That’s true leadership."
Her Story

Attorney Reidy embodies the mission of O’Connor Family Law to its core. For over 20 years, she has practiced family law with grace and fervor in the state of Massachusetts. As a Whitman divorce attorney, Marie helped many people find their new paths in life- including our founder, Heather O’Connor.

As Heather’s divorce attorney, Marie exhibited a deep care for her circumstances and pushed Heather to create a better life for both her and her children. Marie is living proof that attorneys can change lives and she became Heather’s personal mentor and inspiration in many difficult moments throughout law school and her early cases. O’Connor Family Law is honored to have Marie ensuring the highest of quality in our casework.

Marie understands that people who come to the firm are often facing chaotic life changes. That is why she strives to offer an empathetic approach with all of our cases, meeting with attorneys and clients personally and staying in constant communication via phone and email.

Attorney Reidy graduated from the University of South Florida and attended the New England School of Law. During law school, she worked for the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and immediately started practicing family law and real estate law after graduating. It wasn’t long before Attorney Reidy opened her own practice concentrating on divorce, matrimonial law, and estate planning, mainly in the Plymouth County, Norfolk County, and Bristol County Family Courts.

Attorney Reidy’s passion for continuing education and community involvement continued to shine as she taught seminars on domestic violence at the South Shore Women’s Center and became a Certified Family Law Mediator and Guardian Ad Litem for the Probate and Family Court. Her extensive experience in divorce cases involving alcohol misuse and abuse grants her a unique perspective on how to navigate covert addictions and high-functioning alcoholism throughout the divorce process. Attorney Reidy has often offered her time as Lawyer of the Day for Plymouth County Probate and Family Court and participated in the pilot program for Norfolk County Probate and Family Court to offer Limited Assistance Representation to litigants who couldn’t afford to have a lawyer throughout the entirety of their proceedings.

Marie loves spending time in St. Thomas and can often be found ballroom dancing, swimming, or appreciating the world around her on walks with her white Golden Retriever, Bridie. Marie finds great joy in spending time with her four children and four granddaughters.

O’Connor Family Law is honored to call Attorney Reidy a member of our firm family.
